Real quick, I'd like to state what this thread is about. In case the title was a wee bit confusing.
Just as summer is the time of movies. So too it is the time of great game releases or rather late summer-early fall. ANY HOO, This thread is about what games you are most excited about and if you are planning on getting it when It comes out.
So remember kiddies, have fun and play nice.......Mwo...Ah, screw it. LETS BEGIN!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I'm anticipating this summer/fall-
[glow=red,2,300]FABLE III[/glow]-
I have been in love with this series since its inception way back in what 01? 02? 03? Well Its been awhile now, and although FABLE II was fun in terms of the content it brought. The story was lack luster and left me with a very over hyped Deus Ex Machina- type of boss fight. If you could really call it a fight.
So with the recent prospect of FABLE III and the enticing idea of becoming a King of Albion (aka England). I have to say this might be the sequel worthy of the original. But then again I have little faith in Peter " Over 9000 Leaves " Molyneux. However this won't stop me from pre-ordering the game.
[glow=red,2,300]DEAD RISING 2[/glow]-
" I've covered wars you know? ", Well no I didn't nor did I care Mr. Ugly as shit West also known by his alias Frank West. I'm a huge Romero Dead fan, and 1978's DAWN Of The DEAD was my favorite of the trilogy (NIGHT Of The LIVING DEAD (1968), DAY Of The DEAD (1985) ). An to see a game essential about that film with a few tweaks here in there to avoid losing the lawsuit that followed. It was a Romero and Sand box fans dream. I mean who doesn't love killing Zombies?
Well this time we have a slightly more original approach to the Zombie apocalypse this time its set in Fortune City, USA (aka Las Vegas, Nevada, USA); Where we follow a new and alittle less ugly protagonist CHUCK GREENE!!! Whose main focus is to save his daughter from turning undead. This time the game boast weapon creations such as the deadly "Freedom Bear" basically mix Teddy bear, AK-47, automatic turret, and red head band. VoilĂ ! You get a killer Rambo-Esq turret device for all your Zombie killing needs. This will definitely be one I'm pre-ordering.
[glow=red,2,300]HALO: REACH[/glow]-
Purely for the Multi Player content nothing else really as the story by now is so convoluted Its rather sad. I mean where was all this tech in HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED? Explain that one logically Bungie. I dare ya.
[glow=red,2,300]FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS[/glow] -
I never did play any of the original Fallout games. But when I heard the Bethesda creator of the awesome ELDER SCROLLS series and at the time the bad ass ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION, was helming the new sequel and essentially putting there spin too it I knew it was something I had to play. An play I did, I gulped in every mission story point and V.A.T.S. slow-mo kill. All with the excitement of a child.
Well since Bethesda is busy, doing whatever. The reigns of a spin-off have been given to Obsidian (who some might know for the sequel too Biowares hit Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ) who is offering a different approach , yet again, to this series. Turn Based combat! While that doesn't sound good I have faith. Already the story elements seem to be something worth while. Also the " follower " system is way better and each follower has a part in the main story. Something that Fallout 3 missed as your follower was essentially your automated turret system rather than a human/super human/ghoul being. Yet again pre-ordering.
[glow=red,2,300]CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS[/glow] -
I hate the Call of Duty series for a multitude of reasons. But this installment gets my attention for 3 reasons-
1. Cold War
2. Vietnam War
3. The Anachronistic appearance of the Franchi SPAS 12 gauge
Nuff said'.
