THE HUNTED FORUM - GENERAL RULES and FAQ
This page is broken into sections, as follows:
GENERAL RULES - Covers the important stuff:
HINTS, TIPS AND INFORMATION - This includes:
CONTACT DETAILS - Who can help, and how:
-------------------------------------------
GENERAL RULES
The ultimate aim of this forum is to share our interest in all things Science Fiction, and to be as enjoyable and entertaining as possible. This means you can either post and discuss things in your regular human personality, or escape reality and take the form of a totally different character (within reason). And even though we all value our right to free speech, there still needs to be a few rules in place for the benefit of all, and to keep this community a happy and friendly place.
(1) Members should be aware that this forum is available to a wide audience. Posting pornographic content, illegal material, or links to such material is not permitted, and Post and Threads of this nature will be deleted, and the Member responsible will be warned.
However, members should also be aware that this forum deals with films which are Rated R and as such the subject matter discussed in this forum is of an inherently adult nature. The use of profanity and discussion of violent content may be present in some threads and is unregulated.
(2) As stated above, the forum is available to a wide audience - so when it comes to posting Fan Fiction or Stories, please post a Disclaimer before the story (including an age recommendation, if it will contain graphically portrayed violence, or strong language). Despite this disclaimer, all story content is allowed with the exception of information of questionable legality (Instructions on the manufacture of illicit drugs, explosives, etc.) or explicitly pornographic content. The latter may be posted in the Adult Fiction board. If you have questions, you can ask one of the Staff Members.
(3) Members should be as polite and respectful to others as is reasonably possible (unless role or character playing). Provocation, harassment, and other such behavior will not be tolerated.
(4) SPAM: Your posts should not be all IN CAPS, or contain an overload of colors, smilies or large text. Single-word posts are not permitted either (posts of less than 50 chars cannot be posted). Likewise, posts should not be obviously attention-seeking or nonsense messages, and double-posting is unnecessary (simply edit your first post). Also, please do not post in Threads that have been innactive for several years, or Threads that clearly aren't meant for success. Any posts of this kind is called SPAMMING, and apart from being annoying and rude, it simply will not be tolerated.
(5) Members should not complain about other members or their actions in public, but instead contact the other member in a PM and discuss the issue. This also includes Moderator actions. If the private conversation doesn't solve it, the member should report it to a Moderator in private - see the Contact Details section - only if all else fails, should you post concerns in a public thread.
(6) Topics should be posted in their relevant area. If uncertain, you should read the description of each forum before posting, or ask the Topic Moderator - see the Contact Details section at the bottom of the page. If a thread is created in the wrong board, it will be quietly moved to the proper board by a moderator.
(7) Signatures and text quotes are acceptable, but Signature Pictures must be limited to an area of around 500x300 pixels (this area may include more than one picture). If you have questions, ask a Staff Member - see the Contact Details section. And for more information on Signatures and Avatars, see the HINTS, TIPS AND INFORMATION section below.
(8) Members should keep subject lines descriptive. A bad subject line would be "a question" or "this is cool". A good subject line would be "Who played the Predator in the first movie?" or "New information on Predator 3".
CONSEQUENCES: A Member who breaks any of these rules will be warned - either by PM, or in the Thread where the violation occurred. After enough warnings the member will be banned, which may be temporary or permanent depending on the violation. And if a violation is serious enough, the Member responsible will be deleted.

HINTS, TIPS AND INFORMATION
RANKINGS AND HOW TO ACHIEVE THEM
The only way to achieve a higher ranking is to post messages, the more the better.
Certain unique ranks are reserved for Veteran Members, or Members who offer something truly unique and valuable to the forum.
Poster Ranks
Unblooded - 0 posts
Blooded - 50+ posts
Warrior - 100+ posts
Yautja Elder - 250+ posts
Honorable Warrior - 500+ posts
Warrior of Legend - 2000+ posts
If you want to know who is ranked where, click here to view the Top Ranking Members list.
Staff
Blooded Arbitrator (Moderator for one topic)
Global Blooded Arbitrator (Moderator for all topics)
Elder Arbitrator (Administrator - Spooky)
If you want to know who is on the Staff, click here to view the Staff Members list.
Please do not beg to have your Rank increased or for Moderator status, this will do little to increase your chances. It also won't help to make a lot of very short posts, or pointless messages - this will be classed as SPAMMING and will not be tolerated.
HOW TO ADD AN IMAGE TO YOUR SIGNATURE
In the Signature section of your Profile (Profile - Edit Profile - Personal), just add the following code to add your image - but use your own image location, of course.
If you want to use an image that is larger than the Sig Rule will allow, you can resize it using the code below:
You might need to play with the Width and Height values if the image becomes distorted.
You can also use standard HTML codes for Center and Bold, etc. For example, if you want your Signature picture in the center, use the following.
If you need help with any codes, you can contact the Staff Members for help - or better yet, you can see the WHERE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT CODES section below.
CHOOSING A DIFFERENT FORUM SKIN
Once you've registered, you're not limited to the default The Hunted forum skin. You have a choice of four at this stage, and there may be more in the future. The skins are:
To choose a different skin, simply go to your Profile area, click on Edit Profile, then choose the Settings option, and you can find the Skin selection menu there.
HOW TO ADD A CUSTOM TEXT COLOR[/b]
Under the Settings menu in your Profile, you can choose a standard BBC code to appear in all of your posts, like a certain color you like, or having your posts in bold or italic.
You can find all of these option when posting, if you need a code for it.
For example, if you want to add a color use this code:
HOW TO POST A LONG OR MESSY LINK NEATLY
Sometimes you'll want to post a huge URL, or just want to give your URL a title so it looks neat. All you have to do is post the following.
Once it's posted, it will look like this:
This is the title of the link
It's not really necessary to use this code, but it's more polite - it can be quite annoying when extra long URLs don't wrap around to a new line, as they stretch the window meaning you have to scroll it left and right.

For example, if you want to add a color use this code:
[font color="ffffff"][/font]
The 6 F's designate the color you're selecting. If you Google "HEX color codes", you should have a wide variety of color option to choose from. Simply put the above code in your Profile Settings, and replace the F's with the code for the color you want. HOW TO POST A LONG OR MESSY LINK NEATLY
Sometimes you'll want to post a huge URL, or just want to give your URL a title so it looks neat. All you have to do is post the following.
