Looks really cool. I read on IMDB that it's about a monster attack in New York.

Looks promising. I can't hear a darn thing, though. No sound on the computer. I liked the end where the Statue of Liberty's head smashes into the building and a bunch of cars, then rolls right in front of the person holding the camera. If what you say about there being a monster is true, if must be a terrorist.

I just tried to search google for release date, and i came up with this sorenz.dk/2007/08/02/ny-1-18-08-plakat/. The site, and text is in Danish, but you can see from the poster it have something to do with monsters. If you look close into the water in front of the statue you can see some waves, as if "something" walked through it.

I found something once again, it's not that much that has been published on the web. Anyway i found an interview with the director J.J. Abraham's.
"Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we’re doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn’t kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat’s about what’s online? So as you can imagine, we’re focusing mostly on THAT. For what it’s worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us."
I also read that some videos had been removed from YouTube, and apparently there is some sound from the film hidden somewhere on the Internet. And maybe the movie will titled "Overnight" i am not sure whether or not this has been confirmed.

Actually i think this movie is going to Very Very good. I did a little research, and i may, or may not have come up with some actual plot lines for the story. I'll start from the begging.
The "Bloop", is the name given to an ultra-low frequency underwater sound detected by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration several times during the summer of 1997. The source of the sound remains unknown. The movie, code-named 'Cloverfield' and '1-18-08' has a viral site on which one of the characters says "BLOOP!". This has led many followers of the movie's progress to believe that the mystery monster in this movie is related somehow.
Thats one theory, here comes what i hope, might be the actual plot. The Bloop sound was recorded around 50° S 100° W. Remember those numbers. In 1926, H.P. Lovecraft wrote the short story "Call of Cthulhu". The story is presented as a manuscript "found among the papers of the late Francis Wayland Thurston, of Boston". In the text, Thurston recounts his discovery of notes left behind by his grand-uncle, George Gammell Angell, a prominent professor of Semitic languages at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, who died suddenly in "the winter of 1926–27" after being "jostled by a nautical-looking negro". In the third part of the story, "The Madness From the Sea", Thurston extends the inquiry into the "Cthulhu Cult" beyond what Professor Angell had discovered. He discovers by chance an article from the Sydney Bulletin, an Australian newspaper, for April 18, 1925, that reported the discovery of a derelict ship in the Pacific Ocean with only one survivor — Norwegian sailor Gustaf Johansen, second mate on the schooner Emma out of Auckland, New Zealand, which on March 22 encountered a heavily armed yacht, the Alert, crewed by "a queer and evil-looking crew of Kanakas and half-castes" from Dunedin, N.Z. After the Alert attacked without provocation, the crew of the Emma fought back and, though losing their own ship, managed to board the opposing ship and kill all their attackers.
The article went on to say that the survivors encountered an island the next day, in the vicinity of 47° 9' S, 126° 43' W, even though there are no charted islands in that area. Most of the remaining crew died on the island, but Johansen is said to be "queerly reticent" about what happened to them.
47° 9' S, 126° 43' W, and 50° S 100° W. See my point? Yes it is all very weird, and may not even make any sense, but it is some theory's.

It would be really cool if they tied in something from Lovecraft into this movie. I'm sick of seeing Godzilla or dragons destroying cities. If it is Chtulu (probably butchered that) or some form of ancient god, that would be awsome.

However both theory's are kinda ruined since the place where Cthulhu is said to be, and the "Bloop" sound was recorded both are in the south pacific, near Antarctica.
