Phew! See? I told you I could color a good Kaleesh, and I did! The skin is more “reptilian” – with large scales on some areas of the body and donning a more ‘greenish’ color, but my Kaleesh are not of the same species as Grievous’. They are a subspecies known as “brunnea” or “brown Kaleesh”. They are obviously not brown in color, but the term comes from the darker blood in their veins. Where some Kaleesh have a typical red or even violet hue in their blood, the “brunnea” have a dark maroon red. Hence the Brunnea Kaleesh. This particular one dons a specific marking on his mask, so identify himself from the rest of the soldiers, and the necklace is not his, but from his first wife, the red stone being symbolic to the union. A reminder as to what he his fighting for. Also distinguished by the tusk positions. I’ve seen many different concepts for the tusks, and I love every single one of them. For me, they are ALL acceptable. Kalee is a big planet, so no one can say that a Kaleesh has to look exactly “like this”. It’s a heck of a big Galaxy out there and there’s room for all! And if you have no idea what the heck I’m talking about, just nod your head, smile, and look at the pretty picture.

Omg, can you beleive this, that thing, made me scream so loud, I woke up, yes, well, its one of yer best, ya know that? especially on the mask cracks, The General would be proud if he saw this, or atleast, I think he would be. Try a full body pic of this whooping baby, or try a battle ravaged pic of a brave kalleesh warrior, with tons of detailed scratches, bruises, and a heavily damaged body and mask.

Tell me if I am wrong, Mas...but do you use crosshatching? Now that I have learned how to do such coloring in Drawing class, I notice now things in your coloring that I didn't notice before.
I assume that you lay down your "base" colors, but very lightly and one stroke at a time, somewhat keeping your wrist stationary and mainly using the movements of your fingers. Then you start to "build up" colors.
What I have most noticed now is the small blue hints in the skin with the yellow/orange on top of the brownish base.Brown is a good base, and adding two complimentary colors like that really brings out the details...it's very pleasing to look at.
I'd kill to see this in real life and study it. The scan probably doesn't do this image any justice.
Great work as usual!

Especially after the base and the other main colors were done. I used a dark blue for the main crosshatching, then a light blue and some green. To tell you the truth, I did not like how it came out, at least for a Kaleesh. But I am definitly going to use it for Yautja flesh.

I thought I'd have to wait for The New Essential Guide to Alien Species to come out before I got to see a beautiful picture of a Kaleesh.

That is a very well detailed drawing. I'm a great artist, and I can't even draw like that. Good job on the coloring, and fine detail of it too. I really like detailed drawings. I really mean it good job. Bows in respect.
