it's the same species as grievous isn't it? I think it's more in the comics/books than the films

Well, these are fictional creatures. They are not found in either the books nor comics. I just made it up because so little is known about Kalee and its inhabitants that it leaves a lot for artistic license.
I'm already making up a little bio about these creatures, I'll post them up when I'm done including some more pictures.

LucasFilm is going to find my ass and kill me when I post this... Ok, so I was bored during a horse show I went to to cheer my barn-mates on and the setting kind of reminded me of old cavalry scenes, and my with Star Wars obsession far from over I grabbed the nearest piece of blank paper and this came out. It's the most f*cked-up version of a mount animal I have ever created. That's why I have shamed everything Kaleesh with this picture and Lucas is going to hate me forever. What is says on the paper: (top left) - "Kaleesh cavalry soldier on prized Ollabac stallion with ceremonial tack" (btw, Ollabac is what I call these creatures) - "High withers supports powerful shoulder muscles" - "Low, arched back" - "Long, thin tail" - "Clawed hoof" - "Only male Ollabacs have horns portruding from their cheeks." Questions? Comments? Criticism? All welcomed. Honestly? I love it. As most of you know I'm a Grievous/Kalee fan through and through, and in my opinion this thing kicks major ass. The Kaleesh live on a Desert planet, very dry, very hot. In my opinion, it fits that their steeds would have the underfed look, and sort of the rugged reptillian look about them. I would also imagine the warriors on Kalee looking so, as from what I've got of them, they are extremely cultural, they honor their heritage, etc. He looks very tribal, which is how I would picture them. I also happen to own A Guide to the Wildlife of Star Wars, leather hard back, $40, and worth every penny. The Ollabac actually looks like something Lucas, or Lucasfilms would create. It fits in with the oddity of the Star Wars wildlife. Simply put, I love it. You really should mail this to them as an Idea, Mas, who knows maybe they'll love it as much as I do .

General, reply to Desert: Okay that pretty much explains it.
Acctually, the face of the Ollabacs face before. From one of the three older movies? Maybe not on an Ollabac but it just looks farmiliar, perhaps just the horns on either side of the head.

This is my version of how the tusk idea could be converted for a Kaleesh. More wholesome appearance if you ask me. And the wierd pattern on the skin? 'Cuz it looks cool. Gawd, the colors are horrible. I did this in class so I had no time to spiffy it up. Please bear with the crappyness. Questions? Comments? Chicken noodle soup? All welcomed.

hang on, that looks like an ootja Well, that is where I got the idea from. I made a few other sketches for the tusk location but this one was the only one that seemed to make sense in my mind. Yes, it is taken from an ootja, but it's my concept so I steal my own ideas from time to time. That's the whole idea behinf concept art in the first place.

You know what? I didn't like much the face design on the Ollabac, so I changed it a bit. Instead of having hard teeth on both upper and lower jaw, I changed the upper jaw to a ridged beak and the lower teeth are sharper. The tail also changed a bit, and instead of it being long, I shortened it to the point of it being a stump with feather-like hairs at the end. Other than that, it's pretty much the same.

Mas, i'm not a big subject on art and drawing but from what i've seen on here and on the pred drawing page your drawings are absolutely awesome. If i could draw with 1/10th of your talent i'd be happy.

It definitely looks more reptilian now. It makes the earlier version look like an oversized goat. It's a delightful change. I like the action the pic is showing, how the Ollabacs are galloping and the Kaleeshs are ready for action. ^_^

This was something I had on my mind for so long that my hands downright refused to let me draw anything else until this was done. Because I was in such a rush to finish it so I could complete other projects, it came out...uh...not so good. Yeah, I will never draw tanks again. Note: I have no idea if Kaleesh ever used tanks in their wars, but if they did I'm pretty sure they would hitch a ride this way. As for the rider, is he waving at a friend, or just asking for a race? Who knows. I don't put logic to the pictures, I just create them.

Oh but the mysteries in picture always make them interesting, I mean when you add little things that only somebody who took real attention to the picture would notice, smile and say "Clever...". Again well done , Mas. It's sort of like a mix of a Half Track and Tank. You should make the foreground stand out just a tad more from the background (Tank) otherwise it's quite hard to see whats in the picture as everythings "sunken" in together. Anyway wonderful piece of work Mas, and hopefully you can get drawing things now . Critique Corner: Again, forgive me as I know nothing about StarWars and don't really care for the craze. If the Kallesh are able to make Tanks, why do they still ride cavalry?
