Living in the UK, I watch it sometimes...Im a gunner (Arsenal fan). But, Im more of an American Football fan: (Fly Eagles Fly, On The Road To Victory. Fight Eagles Fight, Score A Touchdown 1-2-3. Hit 'Em Low. Hit 'Em High. And Watch Our Eagles Fly. Fly Eagles Fly, On The Road To Victory. E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!!!)....Guess which team I support?

Hahaha, damn!! Good guess! I noticed that, in American Football there does not seem to be many ''riots'' by the crouds. In Soccer over here, there is a fight or a riot every weekend! I find that strange considering that Football is a more violent sport compared to soccer. Must just be us Brits? I just started watching College Football too (I caught the first game at the season's start last year). Is that just as big as the NFL in the States?

I can say I'm a fan of soccer, if played right, and not by a team of amateurs, with all due respect. I support "Benfica", one of the big national teams back home. On November 9, 2006, Benfica was acknowledged by Guinness World Records as having the largest number of paying club members in the world, with 160,398 paid members. Currently, it exceeds 200,000.
You know what they say... "Soccer is a gentlemen's sport played by thugs; Football is a thug's sport played by gentlemen." ;D No but seriously, things have gotten far better in recent years on that department. FIFA doesn't play around anymore, and heavily punishes any team whose fans display misconduct.
From one fellow European to another, I have to respectfully say that the British Hooliganism as always been regarded as being the most violent movement in the sport. While I agree it's not an isolated case, as violence can occur anywhere, you Brits probably have it far worse than any other soccer playing country.

I think we have it bad because our thugs cannot handle their booze and they have nothing better to do.

Football is a gent's game played by idiots Rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen. As a fellow Brit Football hooliganism is a huge hatred of mine following chavs so with the idolisation of Man U and Wayne Rooney I have no time for the sport anymore I see it more of a travesty and would much rather watch another sport. No offence to any other people on here that are big football fans but I strongly dislike it now since the respect of days gone by has been sucked from it.
