Turns out the Russians were guarding the Olympic Games in China, and the Chinese elected to have their own forces trained by them. The video is entirely in Russian, but it shows how the Russkies operate, and I just thought it was interesting to watch. Note the traditional SpetsNaz style of peeling off the scene and vanishing the moment it's over. They don't like to stick around for some reason. No, there was no actual terrorist incident in China during the Olympics. Despite the lack of Broadcasting in the U.S unless U.S forces rescue everyone, even that would have been reported. Linky be here

Interesting it is. All Black attire including the facemask, and that style of climbing off one another.... now that's impressive. I don't think I've seen that used by many other paramilitary groups, as little of I have seen, but it looks it requires quite some training and practice. And I'm sure that's just one of many tricks I didn't see them perform on this video. Although the audience... they're just standing by and watching like some kind of show. You'd think that would make them a little nervous

Note the traditional SpetsNaz style of peeling off the scene and vanishing the moment it's over. They don't like to stick around for some reason. I believe that's traditional of any special force in any country. I mean, if they don't even tell their families that they're in, let's say, SEALs or SAS, they don't usually like drawing attention to themselves. lol 'Cause if so, China would have been reamed on the world stage, for their lack of security. Lol, that happens in Canada too. You only hear about the bad stuff the US does, very rarely do you read or see any of the good. But, they have no problem broadcasting anything the Canadian Armed Forces does right. It's how it works, Orth. Every country focuses on their benevolence and prowess. Hence why that video is in Russian. It's directed to the Russian public as a, "Hey, look at us! We're fucking fantastic!" It's normal practice for countries to do that for themselves. P.S. Be careful, your bias is showing.

Very impressive, very impressive indeed. If memory serves me correctly, Hideo Kojima modelled the actions and movements of the enemy troops aboard the US aircraft carrier in Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty on the SpetsNaz because of their efficiency.

Haha, except for their patrolling tactics, which were obviously the most effective way of guarding a single hallway without getting killed that I've ever seen. Turns out that Kojima did a lot of work with the Russian systems from MGS3-4 too. Most of the CQC Big Boss performed was partially based off of Russia's standard martial art, and in MGS4, Snake's CQC was close to identical, particularly the rifle work.
