I'm a big Friday the 13'th fan, I've been for years, but my God when will they stop? At one point it just won't be fun anymore. They've made like 11-12 movies already, i think it's just gonna disappoint in one way or another.
But yeah I'll probably go see it anyway.

Rath's totally right about this one. I've known this franchise for years but never saw it until recently. On my opinion remakes should only take place if there was no way to have made a movie look more credible or better looking visually at the time it was made due to technical impediments or other such motives, or if the story was presented incorrectly or in a slightly different way than the Producers had in mind. In the case of this franchise it's a mindless slasher film (though entertaining), and its antagonist has been slayed, torched, blown and so on an so forth, and has comeback countless other times, all this to a point where there was no surprise left for the audience in the end. So no, I don't think I'll go see it, even more so if its a remake, and I firmly think that they should leave it alone. lol

Even though its a remake, it's still better than seeing Jason travelling to New York (seriously only for 15 minutes of the movie, when the movie is called Friday the 13th: Jason TAKES MANHATTAN), as a demon who jumps from one body to another, or even in space Atleast in this movie it takes Friday the 13th back to the basics: The woods. Plus Jason's a human again, meaning he can run again, making it more realistic than the walking zombie who can still catch up to the Olympic runner victim. But still it can't be better than the original four movies. Ted White kicked so much ass.

Really, are you serious? So... There's gonna be a Hellraiser Remake [which Clive Baker is in charge of completely, so hopefully it won't be utter shit] There's gonna be a Friday the 13th Remake... There's possibly gonna be a Predator Remake There's gonna be a Candy Man Remake They're already remaking the Batman movies
WHEN WILL IT FUCKING END? Grow some balls, make a new series and leave our childhood memories a-fucking-lone! Bloody Hell Hollywood, you suck asssssssssss.

I'm not much of a horror movie fan , but i have watched the first Friday the thirteenth . I believe that in the first movie , there wasn't even a Jason, it was just his mother or someone who was impersonating Jason and was killing the people . But then again i haven't watched Friday the thirteenth in ages and i could be wrong , but if that is the case , that means that the remake will not feature Jason but an impostor like they did in the first movie , though this is totally speculation . And just to add to the frenzy of remake rumors , i heard they were making a Robocop remake and a spawn remake .

You guys forgot to mention the remake of Halloween (the first one)... lol Good point t2nator, the first one had Jason's mother as the perpetrator of those murders, wonder if they'll use her again, logically if it's a remake they should as she's a pivotal character in the franchise...

Try watching the trailer. I looks a lot like Jason is the main character. I think the producers wanted to make it look like the new movie is set in between the second, and third film. Or so I've heard.

This is true. I forgot about the Halloween Remake. But I didn't watch it, so that's probably why. XD and I heard about the RoboCop one, but not Spawn.... spawn might be cool... But it's still not old enough. And to see a Murphy that actually walks, instead of grinds would be good.

Man. all these remakes are starting to get to me. A couple of remakes once in a while is ok. but so many? Its like Hollywood has run out of fresh ideas from which to make movies on. Though I must say that a couple of those remakes are pretty cool. But only some. Anyways, to stay on topic. yup. I'll probably go see it as well. Actually my mom is the one who's pulling me to see it. She's a big fan of the franchise.

Is it wrong that a) I want to see it and b) I think it actually looks good.
The series started well, although it pastiched itself so much towards the end, and the emphasis went from actually being scary to trying to find the most inventive way to kill someone (face dipped in liquid nitrogen before being smashed on a table anyone?). I enjoyed Freddy vs Jason though...
Anyhow, Michael Bay looks like he's heading back to the direction of the first few films, before they got silly and made Jason the uber-killing-machine-with-teleportational-abilities he later became.

I enjoyed Freddy vs Jason though... Yeah me too, It was most entertaining . Believe it or not I'd actually be more thrilled if they made a Freddy vs Jason 2 than a remake of the original Friday the 13th.

So would I personally. Especially with the way they ended it. Although, putting up two, basically immortal monsters is a failing concept for a winner, but still. It's amusing in and of it's self.

Personally, I do want to see this movie, and from the trailers I've seen, it doesn't look half bad.
I'm a horror movie lover, and since I love the old Friday the 13th movies (at least the ones before Jason's character became ridiculous), I want to see what they're able to do with them now that we have some better technology. I liked the Halloween remake, and I'm hoping I'll like this one as well.
The most common, and nearly only complaint I'm hearing from people I've talked to is that they've noticed Jason has taken up running after certain victims, rather than the calm walking pace he usually uses when in pursuit.
From what I hear people don't like the looks of it and say the ambling gait is what made him so goddamn scary when he showed up once more.
Me, I like the fact that he runs now. I just wish they hadn't given a preview of it in the Trailers. You take a villain and expect him to walk around as he usually does, and all of a sudden the guy breaks out into a dead run with a big ass machete coming at you. That would scare the shit out of me, and I think it puts an interesting spin on the character and makes him a little more imposing. There is no real hope in surviving an encounter with this guy. The fact that he's now free enough to bolt at you just sort of emphasizes that hopelessness, and my twisted little mind gets a kick out of it. It would have been a nice surprise if, as I said, they hadn't let the cat out of the bag.
