well its been a while since I last started up a thread. That and with Halloween practically around the corner, I was wondering which are ya'lls top 5 favorite Scary movies(monster movies count too). Ooh but the fun doesn't end with just listing them, you have to let us know why they're top 5. We all are just dying to know the details. As for me, these are my top 5 going in a descending order. - End of Days - Gotta love Arnie and his fight against the anti-Christ. The story was pretty good and the the action was quite good too.
- Jeepers Creepers 2 - well... not that its that scary but, don't we all love stupid horror flick teenagers and their great ideas that always end their lives at the hands of their prosecutor which in this case is the creeper. Hehe, talking 'bout the creeper, the costume was pretty cool... so cool it makes me laugh.
- The Omen(The most recent version) - little Damian is one hell of a freaky little kid. And that whole thing about knowing you're next to die because of the photographers pictures is just cool.
- Exorcist - we all just love that head going all the way back.
- The Exorcism of Emily Rose - That one... it just freaks me out on the possession scene... that and the thing about it being based on a true story... I couldn't sleep the night I watched it.

The exorcism of Emily Rose freaked the hell out of me. I agree, I had problems sleeping after watching that film. And as you mentioned, it was based off a true story, made it even more eery.
Halloween series are a classic around halloween. Uhm, Zombies movies I guess, others but right now I can't think straight. Post them later.

The Exorcist is based on a true story too. Only they changed the gender. It happened to a little boy. I dunno really. I kinda watch these kinds ov movies all the time...

Halloween flicks..... - American werewolf in Paris.
Werewolfs were horribly portrayed, but it's great fun as a 'family' film, and plenty of humor too. Plus, who can't love the snuggly beasts, even if they look like mutated apes? Plot was also nicely thought out.
Other than that, I can't remember many Halloween oriented films I've watched... but as for Horror....
- Aliens
Really, that's the definition of horror itself. Of all the aliens saga, Aliens really was the best IMO. Can't say what I liked best, but those things are the perfect horror entities, especially in the setting they were in.
- Final Destination I/II/III
Honestly, I can't remember all of the Final Destination installments accurately, I can barely tell them apart, and I don't think I've even Seen the first one, but 15 minutes of any of them is just too involving to look away. The nice thing about the series is that it's not just senseless gore and violence, but at least CREATIVE gore and violence, put together with a reasonable plot, commendable acting, and more or less, a very absorbing theme. The downside is that all are essentially the same thing: A bunch of hapless, witless morons that avoid death by sheer stupid luck, and then get inevitably picked off one by one in the most gruesome ways possible. Boo for predictability. But great saga overall.
- Leviathan
Not very well known, but possibly the most horrific film I've ever picked up at a Blockbuster. Take resident evil's theme, put in an undersea location, an Alien-esque setting, and a partially generic monster that uses medical science as its detriment, and you lose ten years of sleep to fear. For an 80's film that sits in the back of the supply room all day, it definitely has some unacknowledged value in it.
That's all I can recall for now, but I might remember something later.

Recently Horror wise I watched....
Hills Have Eyes (2006)- Not scary but still awesome. One of the best remakes I have ever seen. Yet it brings new stuff to the table without perverting the original story line. 10/10, and thats my honest opinion as a "Horror critic/master". Horror is my favourite genre.
28 Days Later- Another great horror movie. Set in my home land of London mostly. Comes highly from the "Horror Master", great action scenes with some scary parts added. It has some sick bits in it, thats not even on the zombies behalf! Shows you how humanity can be monsters in a crisis.
If you evr want a detailed review on a Horror or just a bit of info on ones your thinking of renting let me know, I will tell you my marks out of 10 on it.
Thanks for reading.
