Doom: Return to Mars
The year is 2148, one year after the events of Doom III: Resurrection of Evil, and the Union Aerospace Corporation never seems to learn from their mistakes. Despite loosing their facility on Mars to the control of the forces of Hell, they continue to experiment will teleportation and biological weapons research on their off-world bases. The Main base on Mars, despite being cleared out by an anonymous soldier, remains uninhabited by UAC personnel. They are continuing their research on two separate facilities, one on each of the two moons of Mars. Phobos and Deimos both support fully self-contained labs and housing for UAC research labs. Ironically, the same system of teleportation that brought Demons in to the Mars base is linking these two bases. The base on Phobos supports three hundred employees, plus a sizable security force. The base on Deimos has a similar force, but a larger group of armed personnel, because that is were the classified labs are kept. In overall layout, both bases are nearly identical to the Mars facility, aside from being slightly smaller and more self-contained, so that they need no outside help. A large garden and oxygen recyclers provide a breathable atmosphere, while the plants from the garden provide an eatable food supply. Now, based on the teleportation research being done by UAC, the feel it is important that notes from the original Mars base be collected and brought back to the base on Deimos for the continued research. Therefore, against all reasonable thoughts and common sense, teams of heavily armed personnel were teleported to the Mars base. That team has not been heard from in nearly three hours, causing much stress and concern for the staff on Phobos and Deimos. This is where the players are going to come in. We will be playing as the staff at either of the bases, that part is up to you. After the RPG starts, it is going to take over the basic Doom plot of all Hell literally breaking loose and running amok over the bases on Phobos and Deimos. Below I am going to include layouts of the moon bases, but eventually, the lucky few are going to have to brave the Demons, and Return to Mars!
Equipment
Flashlight- your standard issue maglite with a long battery life. It is about fourteen inches long and provides a powerful beam of light that can illuminate just about any darkness. Can be used as a club if things get dicey.
H&K Mk. 26 Pistol: A large 12.7mm combat pistol. One of these is issued to every security guard and trooper, and a large supply is readily available in lock boxes around the bases so the research personnel can quickly get access to a firearm. It has a twelve round magazine.
SPAS-20 Combat Shotgun- A semi-automatic twelve gauge shotgun that packs a wallop. Utilizes a slot for holding your flashlight, and contains a nine round tubular magazine underneath the barrel. Kept in the armories until heavy weapons are needed, but shells are located in lock boxes around the base.
CTAR-25 Carbine- An automatic, 5.56mm rifle used by the troopers on the bases as a main armament. It is a bull-pup weapon with a forty round magazine. Unfortunately, it has no slot for holding your flashlight. Ammunition is somewhat rarer than shotgun shells, but still is readily available.
General Dynamics Mk. 11 SAW- The squad automatic weapon favored by UAC and Marine corps personnel is a five barreled, electrically operated, belt fed 5.56mm chain gun. It is fed from a sixty round drum magazine. Unlike heavier weapons, the Mk. 11 fires at a modest rate of fire to cut back on ammo usage and recoil. Ammo is quite rare.
LasTech Version 3.21 Bio Force Gun- The new, lighter, deadlier BFG designed by the UAC’s weapons research division. It, unlike earlier versions, uses a rechargeable power pack that is inserted into the stock of the weapon. It fires a green ball of supercharged energy that will obliterate all but the toughest enemies. A highly classified and very dangerous weapon. It is disputed if they are even present at the moon bases.
CutterTech Model 3 Chainsaw- The Model 3 is driven by a rechargeable battery pack, unlike most contemporary gasoline driven versions. The saw blade is made of super condensed titanium that can cut through almost any known metal. A box of these are located at the Phobos base, where they are used for breaking down obsolete and broken parts so they can be used for fuel in the fusion reactors that power each base.
