This is to be my first, and hopefully not my last attempt to create a succesful RPG on this board. I am a big fan of Westerns, so I thought i'd give it a try and create an RPG in one of my favorite settings. The time and place, New Mexico 1866. The Civil War has just ended, flooding the east with soldiers returning home after years of war. This also prompts a quick expansion westward, creating many gold and mining towns. Our tale takes place in the city of Empire, where a band of ruthless killers abound in the area. This band, nicknamed the Locos Pistoleros (Crazy Pistoliers) by a local Mexican, are wanted for numerous crimes including but not limited to: Murder in the First and Second Degree, robbery, aiding and abetting a federal criminal, kidnapping, as well as various crimes in nearby Northern Mexico. The local Sherriff and his Deputies in Empire are currently tracking this group. Players favoring the law can be the Sheriff (Only one) or his Deputies (Multiple). Those of you who like being the bad guys, you can be a member of the Locos Pistoleros. One may choose to lead them, or you can just be an outlaw. You can have any price on your head you want, but please keep it within reason. Or you can play just about anyone else, but your character must have a goal. Mostly the plot will be driven by the choices of the players.
Is anyone interested in participating?

I too love Westerns, so I'll join... So the premise of the story is the deputies and his men are tracing a ban of outlaws?
Anyway, I'll have a profile up soon.

The premise of the RPG is based loosely on that. The good guys have to track and defeat the bad guys, but everything else is up to the players playing the Sherriff and the Lead Outlaw. I am sure the question is going to come up: Can I use the Peacemaker? Sadly, no you cannot. It was not invented until 1873, and this is in 1866. But that does not mean you are stucj using cap and ball revolres circa 1860. In the last months and quickly following, many Colt and Remington revolvers were converted from cap and ball to cartridge revolvers. That being said, the availiable weapons are vast. 1847 Colt Walkers, 1849 Colt Pocket Revolvers, 1851 Navys, 1860 Armys, 1862 Police revolvers, and the Remington 1858 are all availiable for your use. Below I have posted some pictures of these cartridge conversion revolvers. The Colt Patterson was the first revolver, and as such was one of the first cartridge conversion. Has a hidden trigger that drops own when hammer is pulled back. Five shot, approximately .38 caliber. Here is the 1847 Walker. Five pounds of solid steel, it is the largest and heaviest revolver ever made. Fired a very powerful round, equal to about a .44 Magnum in power. Six shot. The Colt 1849 Pocket was a popular small caliber revolver favored by gambers. Five shot .32 caliber. Sorry, pic is way too big. The Colt 1851 Navy was produced until 1875, making the longest production run for any Colt 19th century revolver. Six shot .38 caliber. The 1860 Army was a slimmed down, streamlined rework of the Walker. It weighs much less, but must take a weaker caliber. popular with law men. Features a nice fluted cylinder. Six shot. The 1862 Police is just a smaller, shorter version. Same caliber, but only five shots. Also, the pic is too big.
