FADE IN:
SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE
EXT. ALIEN WORLD - DESERT - DAY
We see a dead landscape. Nothing but dust and rock. A slight wind blows.
Then, a small purple lizard wanders into view from the right. It's very thin. It changes direction and starts to walk toward us slowly. We PAN DOWN to see a very small puddle of brown water in front of a small hill. The lizard stops at the puddle. A long, snake-like tongue comes from its mouth and it starts to lap up the water. While drinking it looks peaceful and happy. Then, it looks up as TWO huge vehicles come SCREAMING over the hill and fly over the lizard. They hit the ground with a CRASH and speed away. The lizard runs for its life as more and more vehicles come by over and around the hill. We are in the middle of a huge race. QUICK VIEWS at some of the drivers, two or three are HUMAN, the others are strange ALIEN creatures. None of the vehicles have roofs. As they race along the desert we can tell that they are loving it. Their adreneline causes them to scream and yell. All the vehciles have names painting on the sides. We can see some of the names; BROCK, BALBO, K'JINT and SOOZ. Some drivers start honking their horns to taunt the others. One ALIEN driver brings his vehicle close to one of the HUMANS. The alien shouts over to him.
ALIEN DRIVER 1
Hey, look! No hands!
The alien lets go of the stearing wheel and laughs. The human driver, BROCK, looks at the alien and smiles. He then points forward. The alien looks forward, and see's he is heading straight for a rock pillar. The alien screams and his vehicle collides with the pillar, exploding. Brock turns slightly to the right to avoid the explosion, and heads up a small hill. He reaches the top of the hill and goes flying off. He lands back on the ground nearby another HUMAN driver. The race continues. After a few moments, one of the HUMAN drivers hits a bump on the ground. It causes his vehicle to jerk back, and he hits his head against a metal bar. He lets go of the wheel, and the vehicle turns sharply to the left and crashes against the side of a huge hill. The vehicle flips over and goes flying, spinning through the air. It crashes to the ground and explodes. As they keep on racing, something can be seen on the horizon. Some kind of structure. We ZOOM IN quickly to see it. It's a racing curcuit. They keep on racing over some more hills and get to the structure.
INT. RACING CURCUIT
We see the main entrance to the racing curcuit from inside. The vehicles are racing towards the huge open doors. One of the HUMAN drivers rams one of the ALIENS vehicles and it slams into the wall next to the door. As it explodes, the remaining drivers race into the curcuit. They reach the center of a huge open area and skid to a stop. Brock's vehicle stops right in front of us. The drivers get out of their cars. Brock looks around to see hundreds upon thousands of people and aliens sitting in the audience. The row of seats spreads right around the curcuit. There are only two ways in or out. Brock looks to the other exit. The track he is on leads in that direction, out of the stadium. He then looks up to see dozens of huge television screens hanging from the ceiling, which show different areas of the planets vast desert. Level with the TV screens, but fairly far away from them, is a spectators stand. Just outside of the stand, is a small ledge with railings for people to get a better view. A man walks out of the stand and to the edge. He leans forward with his hands on the railing. He is wearing a long jacket with a microphone attached. When he speaks, his voice is amplified by large, powerful speakers all over the stadium.
MAN
Ah, our racers have arrived!
The crowd start to cheer wildly.
MAN
Calm down, calm down.
Now, racers, you have proved
yourselves good enough to
take part in this sport. But
the fact is, that most of you
will not survive this next race.
But to the winner, all of his,
her, or in some cases, its dreams
will come true.
Some of the audience laugh.
MAN
So... get both yourselves
and your vehicles ready.
And remember, it's not the
taking part that counts...
it's the winning!
He raises his hands and the audience go nuts. He then goes back inside the stand.
We see the drivers getting ready for the race. Some are being given advice by friends. One alien is getting ready by drinking gallons of lighter fluid and burping. A few are repairing the damage done to their vehicles in the last race. Brock is getting into his vehicle. It hasn't damaged. He sits down a takes a deep breath. Then, we hear another large burp from the drinking alien. Brock's hair gets blown as if he is a wind. He looks to his left, disgusted. The drinking alien is standing next to him, staring at him. He is holding another canister of lighter fluid. He grins widely at Brock and walks away.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
All the vehicles are at the starting line. They rev their engines while waiting. The crowd are still cheering. A robotic woman walks up to the side of the track. She turns to face the cars. She raises her left arm. Her index finger is a gun.
ROBOT
Ready...!
They rev their engines even louder.
ROBOT
Set...!
Louder, louder.
ROBOT
Go!!!
The gun fires. The race begins. The vehicles zoom forward in a cloud of exhaust and dust. The burping aliens car suddenly jerks and all the wheels fall off.
BURPING ALIEN
Oh, pauk!
It burps again, loudly.
EXT. RACING CURCUIT - DAY
The vehicles zoom across the track towards us and the exit. Some of the vehicles have to move behind others to fit through the narrow exit, giving some an advantage. They leave the curcuit and enter the huge desert landscape again. Several hundred meters in front of the cars is a huge canyon. The two sides are about one hundred and fifty feet apart, and the drop is well over one thousand. They race toward the edge of the higher canyon wall. Brock slams his foot right down on the pedal. We see some of the other drivers. All are staring forward, getting ready for the jump. Apart from one, an ALIEN driver is praying.
PRAYING ALIEN
Dear, Jammannana, if you
let me make this jump, I
promise I will only rob
three banks this year...
They all reach the edge, and flip a switch next to the steering wheel. Huge jets of flame appear at the back of the vehicles, which propel the cars over the canyon edge and into the air. All the vehicles start flying over the gap, expect the praying alien. He is too busy praying with his eyes closed to notice the edge getting closer.
PRAYING ALIEN
Oh, sh*t...
His vehicles falls off the side as the others fly on. As they get closer, they flip the switch and the flames die out. The vehciles start dropping, but still keep going forward. They hit the ground on the other side with a THUD. Only one didn't make it across. Some of the other drivers start to cheer. Brock keeps his concentration on winning.
Suddenly, an advertisment comes across the screen.
MALE VOICE
Having problems getting rid of
those annoying little bugs in
your basement?
We see two young children standing in front of a gigantic cockroach. They turn to face us.
CHILDREN
Uh huh!
MALE VOICE
Then try new, Intergalactic-
bugs-B-gone! Spray down your
entire household and all your
family members with new
Intergalactic-bugs-B-gone
and they'll 'B-gone' in a
matter of hours! Just don't
breath in too much of it!
(very quickly)
Side affects may include vomiting,
temparory blindess, and advanced
delusionary schizophrenia with
involuntary narcissistic rage.
We return to the race. Brock is in third place. An ALIEN driver comes up next to him. The name on the side of the car is K'JINT. He looks to the driver. The alien, K'jint is staring at him blankly. Then it grins, revealing a set of huge, sharp teeth. Brock gives K'jint the middle finger and speeds up. K'jint points at Brock and makes a sound like a gun firing, in the same way a child fires an imaginary pistol. The ALIEN in the lead is singing.
SINGING ALIEN
I'm ah gonna win, I'm
ah gonna win, all you
pussies gonna kiss my ass!
The HUMAN in second place, SOOZ (female) sits up in her chair. She gets a grenade from her jacket pocket and pushes a button on it. She throws it forward to the singing aliens car.
SINGING ALIEN
I'm ah gonna win, I'm ah
gonna...
The grenade lands in his crotch.
SINGING ALIEN
Oof! What the hell...?
He looks down to the grenade. His eyes widen.
SINGING ALIEN
Oh, sh*t! Oh, sh*t!
He lets go of the wheel with one hand and grabs hold of the grenade. He looks at it. It's not armed. He looks back to Sooz.
SINGING ALIEN
It ain't even armed!
Ha ha ha!
She smiles at him and lifts up a detonator.
SINGING ALIEN
Oh...
She winks and pushes the button, causing the grenade to explode. His vehicle flips through the air in a burning fireball and crashes to the ground. Sooz takes the lead. Brock looks impressed with her.
I will finish the rest soon.
