The Kingdom of the Emerald Castle is the title of a Minecraft build I'm doing. It's still very much a work in progress, but essentially what I'm planning Is to construct a medium scale Kingdom in Minecraft, incorporate a bunch of religious, artistic, and architectural Scandinavian references into it, take pictures and spruce them up in Gimp for artsy effect. I'm also dabbling with the idea of writing one long story, or several short stories to accompany the whole thing. This is the first glimpse of it: It's taken from a distance, for artistic effect... The castle itself has 5 floors I'm still decorating, and the tallest spires stretches far beyond the clouds. Nighttime photos. The front (and only) entrance to the castle. The castle itself doesn't have any particular meaning, I just like green, and Emerald Castle sounds cool. the bridge however Is a rainbow bridge, taken from the Norse mythology, called the Bifrost/Bifrøst. Same spot, only looking up. The castle from behind. It's placed on a cliff/hill/small mountain facing the ocean, the rainbow bridge runs on the opposite side heading into the land. The smaller tower on the lower right side of the castle Is a lighthouse. I meant for it to help out the size of the castle into perspective.

My first thoughts upon seeing the raimbow bridge was you are building Asgard aren't you ..... Little bit yes. I am actually going to build a Scandinavian longhouse, the place where lots of Vikings would drink heavily, and fight each other for good sport.

The longhouse is completed: It should be able to accommodate around 50-60 minecrafters.

Looks awesome mate a place I would happily brawl and drink in however in the minecraft world I have only really made tombs, pyramids and other necro related things although I plan on building a dwarven treasure chamber which if possible I will attempt to expand into Erebor from JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit."

Still working on this, taking my sweet time though. The Longhouse can be seen in the upper right corner of the town. I built 2 Forts, one visible on the right side, the other hidden by a cloud due north of the other.

Rath, that looks totally wicked! I just had a thought, instead of a Inn, someone should have made a Yautja longhouse where Yautja could drink and fight. You are a very good artist my friend.
