"Have you never wondered why some men would choose to break their bones?
If I could show you...would you really want to know?
~Sergei Garinich
In interest of having one last bit of nostalgic RP fun, I have created this monstrously simple and yet hopefully intriguing concept to utilize. In attempts of limiting the limitations of a limited world scope, I have removed the limitations of a limiting limit.
In summary? A man is fleeing across the desert, steadily moving towards the abandoned mock-towns and bunkers of old Camp Pendleton. His name is Sergei Garinich. And you are pursuing him.
Thus:
You are all standing on a hill in the middle of the Southern Californian desert. It is midday, and all you can see for miles around is scrub brush, dirt, and rolling hills. It's what I like to call "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" terrain. In the far off distance, a little over a kilometer away, is a tiny, dark dot that's barely visible in the heat shimmers of the day.
It is a man on the run from you all - because each one of you wants to kill him or capture him, each for different reasons, and each with a different knowledge and understanding of what the man is, yet none of you seem to know who he is.
You are all strangers to eachother, having met for completely different reasons but with a common goal.
Rest assured that the man is currently armed, equipped, and extremely dangerous. The only common characteristics that you seem to know of are these:
He either is or was a military man (some accounts say mercenary), the nationality of which and particular service being inconsistent.
He is a criminal, the nature of which is inconsistent.
He has killed at least two dozen people, the circumstances, reasons, and time lines of which are inconsistent.
The international community wants him brought to justice, though each country seems to have a different understanding of his crimes and identity.
Post whatever profiles you like, using whatever histories and armament you like. Create whatever reasons and plot for pursuing this man you like. The intent of this concept is to allow the RP to develop specifically through the interactions between your characters, and the gradual development of the idea and mythos of a man that everyone wants dead yet nobody has ever seen - a man without religion, ethnicity, or identity. A running ghost, if you will.
Hopefully this will allow virtually anyone to participate. Hey, this is really experimental. We'll see what happens.
-------------
How to Play
This will be a cross of traditional RP systems and the system implemented in S.T.A.L.K.E.R, previously posted in this board. You are free to use whatever details and actions you like without confirmation by a proctor, but proctor detail will be provided about the running man.
Thus you can observe him through binoculars, and what you see will be provided by moi, but you will be free to make whatever conclusions from those provided details (and the man's actions) for yourself.
-------
Of course...before anyone makes the mistake of thinking this will be easy to accomplish, I should warn you that I am the running man. And I'm good.
If I could show you...would you really want to know?
