Not only I enjoy watching the Predator movies, but I like to watch other sci-fi movies or TV series as well. I started this thread because I'm sure that many of you enjoy watching either Star Trek or Star Wars, and I would like to know which one you enjoy watching more and why? I'm NOT starting this thread to get into a debate which one is better because that will only lead into a heated debate. So please keep this friendly! No disrespect to Fox or Star Wars fans, but I myself enjoy watching Star Trek more simply because it offers much more variety to watch. I own the complete Columbia House Video collections of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine! They are my favorite Star Trek series.

I like both of these for different reasons as they both show different types of sci fi technology but I would have to say I prefer Star Wars as it was my most favourite film series as a child so I will go with Star Wars.

I use to be a really big fan of Star Wars but kind of lost my interests after Steven Spielberg announced he wasn’t going to continue the series. Don’t know why he made such a choice, just seems incomplete the way he left it. That’s one of the many reasons why I would choose Star Trek over Star Wars. The other reason is because I was practically raised off of Star Trek (not my decision). After watching the show on a daily basis I grew an interest for it (Honestly, I use to hate the freakin guts out of the show), don’t exactly remember specifics but I can recognize the majority of the episodes if they are playing on TV and still find them enjoyable. My favorite episode is Arena from the original series. I love Gorn xD

Wow, what an interesting thread! So far, it's a tie on the voting!
You sure surprised me Siris! I was almost positive that you would have chosen Star Wars because of your avatar and signature, but you made some very good points. I was raised mostly off of Star Trek as well and I own much more Star Trek stuff than Star Wars stuff.
Is anyone on this forum a big fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine?

Didn't George Lucas do Star Wars? And the Star Wars saga has been going on continually for years since Episode 3. Anyway, I'm a Star Wars fan, mainly because Star Wars has cooler costumes

Thanks for pointing that out, that's like the third time I've mixed up their names...ugh
I also meant how he's not making anymore of the new movies and I understand that there is an animated series I just never saw it at the same level like the rest of the Star Wars saga he had made before with real actors and such.
and I agree that Star Wars has way better quality costumes but I love the old cheesey costumes from Star Trek the original series, they are so cool!

I will admit, although I understood your point regarding Lucas announcing that he would not be making more movies, when I read the name "Spielberg" I thought that it was rather odd because Lucas is the Father of Star Wars. Oh well, that's okay because everybody makes misstakes sorry, I meant mistakes. Star Wars characters may have better quality costumes and the costumes are cool, but I like the simplicity of the Star Trek costumes - even if the Starfleet uniforms look like pajamas! LOL. Thanks for posting the pics of the cheesy but cool costumes of the aliens from TOS. I kind of like them as well. Who is your favorite Star Trek character from TOS? I usually prefer the logical Spock.

I like Star Wars a lot more than ST mainly because of a better story line & better characters

Everyone is entitled to which one they like more, but I myself don't agree.
I enjoyed some stories in Star Trek TNG and DS9 even better than the story of Star Wars. Especially DS9 because it was a darker Trek and had the best characters, stories, and plots that I have ever seen in a sci-fi TV series. Many would agree. I just wish that Paramount would have produced a follow-up movie after the DS9 series.

have watched a couple of the next generation episodes on Virgin1 and I thought the storylines were good although I prefer the originals. As for Star Wars I stand by what I said about liking it more although I thought the animated series was a disaster and much prefer the real life films. What are your views on the newest Star Trek film for the ST fans.

I thought that the movie was good. I seen it in the theater and although the plot was a bit complex, it still was a good movie and I like the acting in it - especially Leonard Nimoy reprising his role as Spock.

Yes I was glad to see him with a cameo role although William Shatner apparently was really anoyed with the fact that he did not get a cameo. But they've signed on to do 2 sequels apparently and the next one I think is out 2011.

Who is your favorite Star Trek character from TOS? I usually prefer the logical Spock. Aside from Spock being one of my top favorites, I would choose Scotty because he always makes me laugh and adds sum humor to the show therefore he is one of my top favorites. Third on my list would be Nyota. As for next generation, there are so many characters I love from TNG and my most favorite of them would be Worf (the Klingons are so badass in TNG) and then Picard and then Guinan. Who's your favorite character from TNG? ---
The movie was pretty good and the original Spock's appearence was a BIG plus. I liked how they not only made the movie for the expectations of Star Trek fans but also reached out to other audiences so it was still entertaining to those who were not familiar with the earlier Star Trek series. the only thing that didn't appeal to me about the movie was the motivations of the enemy Romulan, Nero. But other than that I thought it was well done and I'm glad to hear that there will be two more sequels yay

Yeah, Scotty sure added some humor in TOS. Spock and Scotty are good choices because Spock being a Vulcan is so serious, but Scotty would at times make you laugh. Scotty: "I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain! LOL. Captain Picard is one of my favorite Star Trek Captains. He was a great Captain and went through Hell becoming assimilated into a Borg drone as Locutus, but surprisingly pulled through it quite well. I was glad to see that he was saved from the Borg. I always got a kick out of "Q" and what he would say and do to Picard. He sure kept Picard on his guard! I liked Guinan as well. Her advice was always very wise. I used to like Data the most, but now my most-favorite TNG character is Worf as well. He was the first and only Klingon officer in Starfleet and he done a LOT for Starfleet in TNG and especially in DS9. Michael Dorn done an outstanding job playing him. I have the action figure of Worf from the 1st series of TNG action figures MOC! I like how the Klingons are similar to Predators because they are warriors and live for the hunt and honor as well. Do you have any favorite Star Trek: DS9 characters?

I have the action figure of Worf from the 1st series of TNG action figures MOC! I like how the Klingons are similar to Predators because they are warriors and live for the hunt and honor as well. I just recently got my first action figure, (well sorta first, more like my second because I have like this 15inch tall Godzilla figure I got way back from when I was a little kid) wish the store in my area had Star Trek figures but they only have Star Wars so I ended up getting Darth Vader (The General Grievous they had didn't look so good)... I'm so conflicted right now because I don't know if I should open the box or preserve its mint condition..!Been a while since I've seen any episodes from DS9 but I remember Dax, or Jadzia Dax, she was pretty cool and I was beginning to like her character a lot until they killed her off I don't remember much of Dax's next host, Ezri. My second choice would be Odo, but kind of got tired of him when they were playing re-runs of the same episodes that revolved only around him over and over. Who's your favorite/s from DS9?

Jadzia Dax was cool and sexy as well. The cool part is she actually ended up marrying Worf. That was an interesting relationship! ;D
Although I was glad to see Worf in DS9, I really got a kick out of Odo and Quark. Odo, Chief of Security was interesting how he shape-shifted, and Quark's conniving ways always made me laugh. They kind of reminded me of Spock and Bones. Odo and Quark made the show and were hilarious! I myself enjoyed all the Odo episodes because Odo was my favorite character.
