yeah the movie was awesome as anything but i found one think confusing when i started to use the idea in my store that one, some of the Persians were black, the used an elephant and a rhino in the film and the 'immortals' looked like there were samurais in Japanese armor. the store is ficional anyway so what the hell, besides i'm bad with history anyway.

The reasoning behind all that is showing that king Xerxes was all powerful and had all the countries under his control.

I just watched the DVD yesterday. They're coming out with a game for it. That's going to be a little ridiculous.

Dude they always make games over movies for the casual gamer. Casual gamers who know nothing about games, including little four year olds, buy them and thus create a demand for them. No demand, no crappy game.
These people just see the title of their favorite movie and rush to buy it like gullible mice. So let's see...metroid prime for five bucks. Or some crappy ratatouille rip off for twnety bucks? So yeah they will make 300 as a game, and matrix, and bob the builder, and 28 days later, it will all happen in the end and usually suck.

Actually Metroid Prime was good.
Those soldiers that joined Leonidas were Arcadians.

Actually Metroid Prime was good. Those soldiers that joined Leonidas were Arcadians. Exactly my point. It's a great game but old enough to be cheap, and yet people by crap for twenty bucks.

Oh and sorry to bring this back up but I forgot to say, the last stand of the 300? When they actually died? Most people ignore this fact, and I don't remember if it was in the movie, but they had about 1,000 thespians with them

I've been told that they didn't even make it to Xerxes. I don't know whether this is true or not, though.

Since we all agree that 300 is the manliest movie since Army of Darkness, I thought you people might laugh your asses off at this. I know I did. I know it looks stupid, but actually watch it, and you'll like it. youtube.com/watch?v=XOoRRviyG0E

300 is probably like in my top 3 of greatest movies of all time, yes most of the representations in the movie are correct but some have been put in just to make it more visually interesting. It is true it wasnt only 300 who stayed back, but the the point was that all the spartans stayed back and told the other greeks to go if they wanted to beacuse for them it was no retreat and no surrender. Leonidas was probably greece's greatest warrior/king, because he literally was the last man standing and did make xerces bleed, after leonidas died he was beheaded and his head was put on a stick near the gates of the thermopiles, and every dog persian that walked past couldnt look at him because they couldnt believe how one man could fight like that and not only fight to his last breath but kill so many others, in simple terms even though he was dead, they still feared him. Awesome movie. It wasn't really meant to be historical. If it was, all the Spartans would have had long hair and beards, they would not have been fighting nearly naked but would have been in armor, and there would have been a hell of allot more Greeks from other cities with them. Also don't get me started on hat they turned the ephors into. But it wasn't meant to be historical, it as meant to be entertaining and on that it was successful. Also here's a bit of trivia, the Spatans didn't through the Persian messengers into a well, they through them into a deep ditch. The Athenians through theirs into a well.

Saw it opening day at the theater and bought it as soon as it came out on DVD. I have allowed my kids, twins age 11 and 2 year old daughter, see certain parts, but not the entire movie.
Parts were accurate, and parts were added for effect yes, but it is a great movie through and through!
