I may be new to this forum-and 17 as of last November-but I do know a lot about predators-or Yautja as they are often called-and their technology, and much about the xenomorph physiology-mostly speculation.
An example:
Xenomorphs (xeno- meaning strange and -morph meaning shape) do not see through eyes on their head but rather inside their mouth. The inner mouth is the source of their vision, which is why you never see them keep chunks of their prey in the inner mouth. They have translucent teeth and can see through their outer mouth-even when closed-because it is see-through from the inside. They have a powerful sense of smell which effects their sight, and their sight uses ambient noise, smells, and even very minuscule light sources to see even in the darkest of environments. They have a molecular acid that is rendered ineffective by yautja blood, and they have a system which allows them to survive without air or food for long periods of time. They are unaffected by extreme cold in any way that is harmful to their health, but fire and extreme heat can damage them. They are extremely intelligent even at the genetic level because of the quadruple-helix formed using silicon bonds, xenomorphic DNA, and the host's DNA. They also can locate prey using smell-even through walls-and sound. They can use pheromones to locate cloaked yautja. They have a very ant-like hierarchy in regards to civil war, but they can form a hive-to-hive alliance when one queen overpowers another and becomes Empress. The Mother Queen is the highest rank and has her own royal guard that is made of bigger versions of drones.
