Since my Small Notice thread got molested by a few of us, I thought I'd create this thing to commemorate the Golden Age of the Hunted. As none of you know, back in the early days of the Hunted everyone always went Off Topic, we were allowed to curse as we pleased, and all those things have since been lost in this new age of order. Seriously though, many of the new members never got to see, or experience the founding days of The Hunted. Which Is a shame. I figure this thread could be used to get a better idea of how the Hunted got to where It Is today. Over the years The Hunted has seen many fantastic moments that many newer members might never get to see. There was the great days where The Hunted's RPG's were flourishing, and the community was closer than ever. Then there were the less than great days where now Legendary members like Kroenen, Lexa, and others left The Hunted. Those names meant a lot back then, but Is now little more than whispers on the forum. We also had our resident A-Holes. People who makes even the dumbest person feel like Einstein. Tommy the Douchebag, Adan/Wankster, Hitman, each one dumber than the next. We had many laughs at their expense. In this first post, where by the way you guys can post If you're just bored and want to get some more friends and increase your post count. I'd like to introduce the new guys to Colonel Kroenen. He was one of the first Co-Admins, and one of the most Evil beings ever to haunt these boards. Today, just about all the Moderators, myself included, value their position here because of him. He was very dedicated to the Forum, and even made a lot of changes here even I don't know about. Finding his most significant posts today Is like finding Jesus' DVD collection. As a Staff Member I am filled with Awe, disgust, nausea, and honor when I read his most memorable posts. In this Thread a Former Member throws a tantrum ,and Kroenen shows his power by making It quite clear to him that he needs to take a seat in the back of the class and shut the hell up. Another Staff Member even speaks back to Kroenen, something very few people ever got away with. And Kroenen made It crystal clear how the Hunted's hierarchy works. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mtclosed&action=display&thread=3223This thread should be imprinted in the brains of anyone who ever thought of moderating The Hunted. I am not joking when I say It is even included in the Hunted's Moderator handbook. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mtclosed&action=display&thread=4472And finally, his goodbye thread. While he Is not the longest lasting member ever to be here, he was one of The most important. The farewell comments also show how his personality affected the whole forum. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mtclosed&action=display&thread=5173I also recommend you honor his memory, and all that he did for The Hunted by dropping by his profile, and throw him a Trophy. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=theepredatorI'll post some more Greatest Hits later, in the meantime feel free to use this thread as an unofficial chat room.

predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=otalley&action=display&thread=5019&page=1 I've always liked this one, a gang bang of Malus beatings. What I was talking about the other night with him trying to stand me up. I really wish I had grown a spine a long time ago... Such a giant little shit back in the day. But none the less. Everyone enjoy a good old fashion roast a la Malus. No General unfortunately. But it shows Off Adda rather well.

I may not have been around yet for the prime of the Golden Age of the Hunted, but I still started out at a pretty good time. People were RPing almost nonstop, new discussions were popping up all over the place and new members were cropping up all the time. It's a shame things have slowed down so much.
I myself was involved in a number or RP threads here. It's actually how I got started RPing, and the Hunted will always be remembered for that.
And of course the roasts. I love a good rant, and idiots are so much more tolerable when they've been roasted to a deep golden brown and basted with the malice of those they've offended. Yum.
Speaking of which, Shagrath, stop eating all the infants. Some of us get cravings for baby meat, too, you know.

This thread sparked a real sense of nostalgia in me... I have many warm memories of this place. Begging Kroenen to make me a sig before the 200 post requirement - a futile attempt, and my considerably lengthy PM was met a blunt "No." (However he did lower it to 190 posts for me, in his fashion) Enter: Cheshire Cat. A true enigma by anybody's standards hailing from the deepest darkest Ohio (at the time a 13 year old cybergoth with a middle parting) who came out with some really fucked up ideas. But he was the source of lots of amusement to the others, and remained a good buddy of mine all throughout. But enough rambling. You all ought to check out the memorable threads sections, and see the hype this place used to generate. Although I don't often post here and many of you new members most likely will not know me, I have an idea for you all. Although the Golden Age that Rath so fondly refers to is now simply verbatim tucked snugly away in the depths of the internet, that isn't to say you guys can't create a new era. This place has soul, although it's not so noticeable these days. But with new people comes new conversation, new ideas, everything. Rise from the ashes and recreate the community of this forum - leave your own mark here and start a new generation. I will be here all throughout and afterwards, and I trust (and hope) people like Rath, Dario, Frost, Shadowstalker, Ada, Han, etc will stick around too. Forgive me as there are many others but it's been a while And, well, even if this place is destined for nothing more, at least we have a great database of information and discussion on one of the greatest sci-fi franchises ever conjured. Now fly, my pretties!

So sue me, I was bored!!
It was lunchtime, I'd eaten my food, sat here with naught to do, and figured, I'll swing by the Hunted to see if there was any activity...
And bloody hell, Rath has created the perfect thread - looking back at the old times, getting longtime members back, making the place a bit more active, and it bloody worked.
Granted, it's not full to the brim, but some activity is better than none eh? I actaully signed in to PM Michael to get his ass into chat, but he decided to ignore the request, typical! then he PM'd me with some weak exuse about his Windows 97 PC not being able to run Java or some such nonsense....
Basically I'm saying that I've become the very epitomy of the thing I despised. I assure you, my leaving thread was meant to be permanent, but I did disclaim it with the whole "If the board stays active then I'll swing by" part. Plus, I figure I can get some slack given the tenure.
So I might not be back full time, but I will be inputting into Rath's new thread with vim and vigour shortly, as I have to go back and work now; this crack won't sell itself kiddies...

Set'g, what do you expect! I come from the ass-end of the world, a forgotten British colony. I count my blessings that my trusty 97 even runs anymore But in all seriousness, there's no need to justify a slight return, it's a pleasure. I too will be combing the boards for some great value.

All because of your training. Though I do seriously owe you a big thank you for getting me a Moderator position all those years ago. I'll keep doing my best to live up the high standards you guys set. 97? Really? You are lying. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plz-bhcHrycSo that's what you do.

Nice to see you're not gone entirely, Setg. I hadn't even realizes so many members had said their good-byes recently.
It's a damn shame.
I've been looking through some older threads the past few days and it nearly had me in tears to think we've lost so many members and activity in such a wonderful community.
It's nice to see people popping back in now and again

It's nice to see people popping back in now and again It's like moving off your home. I mean, who could really leave the place where you crew up etc. completely behind? I truly hope that us newer members could experience something like you long-time member have had. So, I guess new blood is always needed too.. But luckily activity has increased a bit now.

Indeed, my good ol' friend! I too have been venturing into the oldest records of the Hunted, back to the day I joined and further back yet. I actually feel kinda embarrassed now, every time one of my shyly first posts pops up on some of those old threads, where I posted to merely agree with the views I felt more related to, and not to add too much more useful information into the discussion as I started doing when I felt more at home and got to know everyone a bit better. *blushes at former youngster noob self* I'm not sure if you all can remember what your first impressions of the Hunted were, but I remember thinking mere moments after registering, that the staff were incredibly ruthless and unforgiving. lol For all you new bloods out there who can now happily reply in old threads and such, not caring for it's starting date, rejoice, because you'd be creamed back in the day if you tried pulling that off. Rath buddy, you definitely were not kidding when you said all that stuff! lol Oh and Micheal, we "old" dogs gotta stick together, how else are we gonna project the notion that this is more than just a Forum but a friend's hangout place first and foremost?
That is indeed the spirit fireblight, I'm glad some of you are starting to see it that way. That completely summarizes my point above.
I'll probably get back later too to share yet another "new found" lost memory as I'm a sucker for some of the very first goofy Vs discussions I've experienced and participated in, much easily found in the memorable threads area which I highly recommend you visit as well.
See kiddies, I told ya all they weren't gonna truly leave us. We're much too irresistible, and they haven't been able to cope with that after all this time. hahaha *Unleashes victorious cry of war*
Much love and respect to you all, my brothers and sisters.

I really didn't expect all you guys to get all nostalgic, and throw around chick flick moments, but I like it.
When I get the time I'm gonna make another big post, and introduce the new guys to The Hunted's Douchebag Hall of Fame.
I might change the name. But I'm gonna find the best threads where some of the most famous members really tear apart the dumbest, and most annoying persona's on the Interwebz.
It's gonna be something like this:
Douchebags: Tommy the Delusional Frostblade Predatorhitman Adan/Wankster
And whoever else I can dig up.

You forgot Spearheart or whatever the hell her first incarnation was. She started a mess that could be laughed at around the world.... Aye, tis hard to keep track of all the loonies. Spearheart was a special one indeed, and your very own personal nemesis.
Now, over the years The Hunted have had the pleasure of dealing with some of the worlds most interesting annoying people. It probably wouldn't be a complete lie to say that these people presented the Hunted with both our worst moments, and our best. While these idiots mere presence lowered the entire forums IQ by at least 100 points, many of our most memorable members, Staff and members that is, prevailed through this fog of idiocy, and gave us all the greatest verbal annihilation's ever. For the past year, or two these jackasses have been somewhat rarer in occurrence, at one point the arrival of one of these nut jobs actually sparked a flood of activity of the forum. And the greatest of these morons left the Hunted over 3 years ago, so I'd imagine many newer members might only have heard the names of these people in hush whispers. So I dug up the remains of these people, and with them also some of the proudest moments of The Hunted. Just note, their not in chronological order. First off, I'd like to show you guys what type of people we usually got. 10-15 years old, self proclaimed queen of the world, 15 made up titles to go with their names, delusions of grandeur, IQ of a dung beetle, and somewhat same purpose. Dragging their own little piece of shit everywhere. The first one I wanna tell you about Is Spearheart/Wolfy. Few words can describe this, lets call it "incident" she brought on us. She got over 2,000 posts In a matter of months as I recall, mainly due to her RP'ing. I can't quite recall when she got In trouble, but I do remember the... Interesting aftermath. So lets just take It from the beginning of the end. Her first farewell thread, which was later fixed by Orthrus. It's a long, but good read. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trash&action=display&thread=4596If I remember correctly, she did return after that, mainly as a guest, called herself Wolfy, and refereed to herself in third person. We all laughed. She still has a profile here I believe. There's a good storyline with her buried In the Trash Can. The new members can always try, and dig It up. I can toss another 2-3 links up with some decent laughs, but to tell the truth there's really only 1 guy that comes to mind when talking about idiots. Tommy. I think he first started his month long tantrum when some of the good members pointed out to him that just because he "impersonates" the Terminator, that doesn't mean he's right about everything. The following Is 15 pages of Tommy's arguments being ripped apart by everyone else. You can probably get by If you just read the first few pages, and the last one. predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mtclosed&action=display&thread=3239Tommy went on after this. Made several more crap posts always using his "impersonation", "robotics study", and "my dads an engineer" excuses for his behavior. He repeatedly had conversations mid-thread with his "friends", though I really do believe he just had several accounts, about knocking down trees on each others houses, poisoning plants, and their usual shared morning BM. And each and every time The Hunted proved him wrong In every which way. The guys who weren't here to see this might be a little confused by now. Robotics? Terminator? whaaaat? I assure you, we were just as baffled then as you are now. It all culminated with him, and his gang of hippies telling us how they were all from different dimensions, and how Tommy was going to build a real Terminator. After he made a few petitions to remove The General from his Co-Admin position It came to this: predatorhunted.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trash&action=display&thread=3302I'll probably post more links with Tommy's little escapades later, but for now try, and read through some of these yourself. And of course any other old timers feel free to pitch In your own stories about your encounters with these morons. Ada I know you got a few with Wolfy, 'cause I laughed quite a bit over them.

Gee.. Just read a bunch of those old threads and I don't know what to say.. Well, got a nice laugh. It's funny to see how all the spammers and other jerks are so annoying but at the same time they cause many amusing situtations. So, hard to say are they a good thing or a bad thing.. Anyways, I'm willing to read more posts of these "legendary idiots"..

It was very active back then and it's a real shame that kind of activity had plummeted in recent years.
Even with a new movie, we may not see too much of a spike in new members. And if we do, its likely they won't stick around like they used to back in the day. A few posts here and there and then disappear.
The inactivity that the site is suffering now is likely cause for hesitation in any potential members that stumble across us. I know that I personally avoid sites that are very low on activity or membership numbers on the occasion I go looking for a place to RP.
Now our member count looks impressive at a glance, but numbers like that don't mean anything if no one is even signing in, nevermind posting. People will see this rate of posting speed and the general lack of activity and will most likely pass us by in favor of searching for or joining a more active site.
One method that could potentially help is setting up an Affiliates board for visiting Admins or Affiliates staff on other sites to create threads and post up their site information.
A lot of boards that I've seen will only affiliate with those that have a section where their site button will be displayed and easily viewed by guests and members as well, so that'd have to be set up in addition to the board.
I don't really know anything about creating that sort of thing, but I figured it was an idea that could potentially help the site for the Staff to mull over.
