Would anyone actually be down for getting together for a new one? I know we've got some quality players, or at least have in the past. The new blood should at least attempt to make the legends of old proud.
Been musing starting one up, but never had the chance. Anyone ever hear of Warhammer/Warhammer 40k? There's almost a limitless amount of lore involved. So many different races, factions and everything of that sort. Technology, Magic, Daemons, Space Travel...
I know this is a little vague, and not much information is involved. I am intrigued to see what you guys are capable of. If anyone's interested, I'll post more information.

I could probably stick around long enough this time for an RP.
While I've heard the name Warhammer before, I really don't know anything about it. Google can help me with that, I'm sure, though it probably won't compare to actually playing the game, so some additional info could be helpful.

For 10,000 years, the galaxy-spanning Imperium of Mankind has endured, surviving disasters, heresies and invasions from alien races intent on the extinction of humanity. The largest empire ever known, the Imperium spans the galaxy, boasting a million worlds and billions of soldiers sworn to its cause. From Terra, known as Earth in ancient days, the fate of the Imperiums' numberless subjects decided with every decree. There is no peace however, for the stars are awash with the blood of Mankind. The Imperium is beset on all sides: invaded by voracious aliens eager to consume and annihilate, assailed from within by renegades and threatened by traitors who seek nothing less than the utter enslavement and destruction of humanity. In the face of such innumerable foes stand the armies of humanity, the courageous soldiers of the Imperial Guard and the super-human Space Marines. The largest organized army in existence, the Imperial Guard are the hammer of the Emperor, a force billions of warriors strong. In contrast the Space Marines are few in number, it is said that there is not even so many as a single Space Marine for each planet in the Imperium and yet they are humanity's greatest champions. Angels of Death, the Space Marines strike fear into the hearts of the Emperor's foes. In a nutshell. There are several factions. The Imperium of Man, the Ruinous powers of Chaos, the Eldar, the Dark Eldar, the Orks, the Necrons, the Tau, and the Tyranids. And in the Grim Darkness of the Future, there is only war. Yes they're all at war with each other. Occasionally there are uneasy truces to eliminate great threats, but these are weak and vulnerable. Mostly consisting of I won't bother you, and you won't bother me, lets go kill this thing. Usually in an attempt to thwart the forces of Chaos or the life consuming Tyranids. More information on them can be found here. www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=&categoryId=§ion=&pIndex=0&aId=6900002&start=1&multiPageMode=true That'll give anyone a brief little synopsis of them. And going through the different web pages on the Games Workshop site will show you nearly everything and give you a visual. wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Warhammer_40,000 Here's the Wiki for further information. It should be able to answer any question you could have. And if you can't find it, or not sure what to look for. Give me a yell here. Or via PM. And I'll direct you in the right direction, find it and set up a link here in this thread or all to see. Depending on what everyone's preference would be is how the game would go down. But the most likely scenario will be Space Marines.

I'd be interested, but I don't have frequent enough access to a computer to really participate. If a thread did start up though, you can be sure I'd do my best to make sure I could get in to it. Never played Warhammer 40K, but I've got enough friends who do and I'm on enough other forums chock full of people who do to know the game's pretty sweet. I think I'd be more than happy to join up, again, assuming the time constraints don't inhibit me too badly. Soo... That's another person's interest thrown in. Count me in, my access to the internet willing.

That'd be fuck'n awesome. I'd love to play with you again, hopefully you'll be able to grab yourself come computer time. Give me at least one more person, and I'll start making a thread.
And give me your opinions on what factions interest you guys.

To be honest, Necrons would be an interesting challenge... They were the first of the armies I learned about, and hearing that they existed made me almost religiously try to get a copy of WH40K for a few months, to no avail... So, if anyone else possesses the same weird tendencies as me, I'd love to try my hand as one.

Well there isn't really a "challenge" to playing as the Necrons so much as; NONE of them have any personality. They are as much Mindless as they are Lifeless. They are a literal army of killing machines hellbent on doing nothing but ending life in the galaxy, for their dark gods the C'tan to devour the souls of everything. There are no thoughts, there are no friendships, no speaking to each other. Look at the as you would an army of terminators. Terminators with molecular flaying gauss weaponry... wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gauss_WeaponryI was musing putting them up as an opposing force for a segment of the game. I would love to get a necron army together for the table top one day, convert it something nice and go from there. But as of right now, thats not in the works. They're a great idea, and I love them. Their background is extremely sad, and not enough people play as them I think. My own preference is Chaos, the god Slaanesh in particular. But I don't expect all of you to see eye to eye with that choice. As in today's standards he's been simplified to a god of sex and drugs, and people see no use to that in a battle. Although there's much more to him than that.

Didn't realize the Necrons were mindless from the entry... it said they lose more of themselves every time they 'die'. I was kind of planning on playing up that loss of self. If that isn't in the works however, Space Marine might be cool, or the beings of Chaos... daemons, etc. It'd be interesting, thats for sure.

Was kind of hoping to get more of a response than just you two. And Fangs only making the one post. Is no one interested in Roll Play anymore? The subject matter, or my vagueness too much?
I'd love to go and play as one of my chaos marines personally. I've had one in the works for a bit now. My Daemon Prince has a background of sorts, and been working on the Sorcerer and one of my chosen.

That option had never actually crossed my mind. Although it should have been an obvious one, is it that a lot of the newer kids here don't have any particular skill in roll play? If you'd like to this one's here. If not, no one's forcing anyone.
