LOL i don't know what it is with you people and saw. 1. Saw, even for me, which is wierd, looks gross. 2. What is with you people always having to see gory movies? I'm serius, you guys always say that the ring was not scary, but at least it's not gory like saw. 3. The shining is a real horror movie. Other then that i know my friend has ether gone to see it, or is going to.

1. CCat, did you actually watch SAW? It's nothing like the previews made it look. It's not to terribly gory. It's mostly about these two guys trying to get out of the room they're trapped in.
2. I personally am just getting around to checking out the horror Genre, and BTW, shut up. You're a Predator fan, you can't talk about ANYONE's interest in gory movies.
3. Well Jack Nicholson IS really scary.
I can't wait to see SAW II

Doesn't realy sound that good, (but I haven't seen it, and I'm not going to) I hope that they dont think that just because it has loads of gore it doesnt need a good storyline though

Thats my point. All movies have to have nothing but gore. Seeing some dork dragged off into the corner and hearing a scream doesn't freak me out, and doesn't tingle me, it just pisses me off, because since alien, thats what all thriller movies have been about. For all i know it could be good, but i'm tired of movies where the point is to have people die.

Woah check that. I just read the primise, now i want to read the script. Sounds like it could actually be kinda witty. Of course i've read reviews about it having self mutilation in it. Why would anyone want to watch a movie with someone trying to pluck they're eyes out? I mean seriusly.

yeah, you obviously haven't seen either of them. They're not pure gore. They're not even very gory. They're about a guy trying to prove to people that they don't appreciate the lives they've been given.
So I watched SAW II tonight. It was ok. I didn't like the end NEARLY as much as the end of the first one. I saw the end of this one coming though...Amanda continues to kick some serious ass and prove she is worthy of her life.

I didn't mind Saw at all, and I'll be happy to watch II. When it comes to movies like this, I'll always prefer the 'psychological thrillers' as opposed to the plotless gorefests. For instance, the original 'Silence of the Lambs' (brilliant at the time, first of its kind), 'Se7en' (excellent plot and great twist), and of course 'Saw' (simple plot but very well written). I guess 'Saw' is what you'd call a 'hollywood style' thriller tho... almost on par with 'House on Haunted Hill' and 'The Ring' and 'Gothika' etc. Very interesting movies, but not your old-skool gritty realistic drama - if you get what I mean. anyway, that's my 2 cents worth

Yeah, I was surpirsed by Saw. I thought it was just another one of those mindless gory movies but it was really interesting and attention grabbing. A great little derversion from reality I can't wait to see Saw 2.

Saw in particular is more of a smart horror. there is a few gory scenes but nothing to really upset you. and cat you should watch it then you would be able to make a proper opinion on the movie
