GENERAL RULES
The ultimate aim of this forum is to share our interest in all things Predator, and to be as enjoyable and entertaining as possible. This means you can either post and discuss things in your regular human personality, or escape reality and take the form of a totally different character (within reason). And even though we all value our right to free speech, there still needs to be a few rules in place for the benefit of all, and to keep this community a happy and friendly place.
(1) If you have a question regarding anything Predator related, please check The Hunted website first, and also search the forum to see if it's been answered already!
(2) Members should be aware that this forum is available to a wide audience. Posting pornographic, offensive or illegal material or links to such material should not be condoned, and Posts and Threads of this type will be deleted. Vulgar language and swear words should be minimised, although many curses will be automatically censored.
(3) As stated above, the forum is available to a wide audience - so when it comes to posting Fan Fiction or Stories, please post a Disclaimer before the story (including an age recommendation, if it will contain graphically portrayed violence, or strong language). If you have questions, you can ask Joker about it, or one of the Staff Members.
(4) Members should try to be as friendly and tolerant as possible, and treat other members with respect (unless role or character playing). Genuine personal attacks, flaming, or abuse towards other members is strictly prohibited.
(5) SPAM: Your posts should not be all IN CAPS, or contain an overload of colours, smilies or large text. Single-word posts are not permitted either (posts of less than 50 chars cannot be posted). Likewise, posts should not be obviously attention-seeking or nonsense messages, and double-posting is unneccesary (simply edit your first post). Any posts of this kind is called SPAMMING, and apart from being annoying and rude, it simply will not be tolerated.
(6) THREADMANCING (Resurrecting in Old Threads): When a new movie/TV-show/song/event becomes popular, people naturally talk about -- it until it slowly becomes old news, no longer current or relevent -- and after that, anyone who tries to talk about it is usually seen as uncool or even annoying. Exactly the same principal applies to threads and posts! Try not to post in a thread older than a month or so, unless you genuinely have something new and insightful to add. Pointless threadmancing is frowned upon by your peers.
(7) Members should not complain about other members or their actions in public, but instead contact the other member in a PM and discuss the issue. This also includes Moderator actions. If the private conversation doesn't solve it, the member should report it to a Moderator in private - see the Contact Details section - only if all else fails, should you post concerns in a public thread.
(8) Topics should be posted in their relevant area! If uncertain, you should read the description of each forum before posting, or ask the Topic Moderator - see the Contact Details section at the bottom of the page.
(9) Signatures and text quotes are acceptable, but Signature Pictures must be limited to an area of around 400x200 pixels (this area may include more than one picture). If you have questions, ask a Staff Member - see the Contact Details section. And for more information on Signatures and Avatars, see the HINTS, TIPS AND INFORMATION section below.
(10) Members should keep subject lines descriptive. A bad subject line would be "a question" or "this is cool". A good subject line would be "Who played the Predator in the first movie?" or "New information on Predator 3".
CONSEQUENCES: A Member who breaks any of these rules will be warned - either by PM, or in the Thread where the violation occurred. After enough warnings the member will be banned, which may be temporary or permanent depending on the violation. And if a violation is serious enough, the Member responsible will be deleted.

HINTS, TIPS AND INFORMATION
RANKINGS AND HOW TO ACHIEVE THEM
The only way to achieve a higher ranking is to post messages, but in some cases a particular Rank may be bestowed on you for performing a task worthy of reward - ie. submitting reviews and graphics, advertising the site etc. You may also get rewarded for spotting out in Forum errors, such as a typo, broken link, broken image, or anything along those lines. Report any errors here.
Please do not beg to have your Rank increased or for Moderator status, this will do little to increase your chances. It also won't help to make a lot of very short posts, or pointless messages - this will be classed as SPAMMING and will not be tolerated.
HOW TO ADD AN IMAGE TO YOUR SIGNATURE
In the Signature section of your Profile (it's towards the bottom, in the Preferences area), just add the following code to add your image - but use your own image location, of course.
Code:
[img]http://www.site.com/dir/sig-image.jpg[/img]
If you want to use an image that is larger than the Sig Rule will allow, you can resize it using the code below:
If you need help with any codes, you can contact Joker for help - or better yet, you can see the WHERE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT CODES section below.
And if you want your own personalised Signature, you can ask our resident Signature artist Spike who can fulfill your request... as long as you follow his instructions, located at the Signature Request thread.
CHOOSING A DIFFERENT FORUM SKIN
Once you've registered, you're not limited to the default The Hunted forum skin. You have a choice of four at this stage, and there may be more in the future. The skins are:
The Hunted (Default)
Alien Host
Night Hunter
Blood Rain
To choose a different skin, simply go to your Profile area, click on Modify Profile, then scroll down until you see the Account Preferences section. From there, you can pick the Skin of your choice.
HOW TO ADD A CUSTOM TEXT COLOR
Thanks to our Co-Admin, Colonel Kroenen (Thee Predator), you dont have to repeatedly add in the color code in your posts to change the post color. Now you can change the color of your posts by simply adding in the color HEX number in your profile. Now, for some colors, you can just type in the color (for example red; grey; silver; green; pink), however most colors do need the HEX code. Note: Some color HEX codes can be found here.
HOW TO POST A LONG OR MESSY LINK NEATLY
Sometimes you'll want to post a huge URL, or just want to give your URL a title so it looks neat. All you have to do is post the following.
Code:
[url=http://www.site.com/dir/]This is the title of the link[/url]
It's not really necessary to use this code, but it's more polite - it can be quite annoying when extra long URLs don't wrap around to a new line, as they stretch the window meaning you have to scroll it left and right.
WHERE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT CODES
For any more information on the codes mentioned here, or to find out about other codes that might not have been mentioned, just visit the official Proboards support site. Click on the link to visit the Proboards FAQ.
